On 23 and 24, 2024, Open Net and the Taiwan Association for Human Rights (TAHR) co-hosted a two-day lecture and workshop on the topic of targeted advertising and protecting privacy. 

The first-day lecture was held at the TAHR’s office as a closed-door workshop formality at 7 pm. Hongki Yun, the Open Net researcher, and KS Park, the executive director of Open Net, are the only speakers of the workshop. Hongki delivered the South Korean case to the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) fined Meta for collecting off-site data without explicit consent and requiring service users to consent to providing personal data from third parties. KS introduced the concept of the Personal Data Protection Act involved in targeted advertising.

Around 15 ppl attended while about 1,351 ppl watched through Youtube.
